Ok, I am thankful for texting. Some times, you just need a quick answer, and a quick text does the trick. Some times something is on your mind and a text makes it easy to help you remember and take care of later. However there are some things about texting that I really don't care for. (I believe passionate words should be used for positive things, therefore I will not use hate, despise, etc).
People who text while driving are stupid. It's only a matter of time before you die. Resist the temptation and turn your phone off. Haven't you seen any of the gory texting videos? "LOL" could be the death of you. And how would someone else feel if they found out you died while they were texting you?
People texting in church. Really? Texting in church has to be one of the RUDEST things ever. Unless you are a Dr, a cop, or hmmm the Pres of the United States, I can't think of a single reason to have your cell phone on in church. And even those are pushing it. Texting while someone is teaching shows a total lack of concern for all of the preparation they have put into a lesson. (Sorry if that offends). Oh well.
And my number one texting and email pet peeve. SENDING ME A MESSAGE IN ALL CAPS. WHAT THE HECK!!! WITH LOTS OF EXPLANATION MARKS. I AM SORRY BUT IT REALLY SEEMS LIKE YOU ARE YELLING AT ME AND I DON'T LIKE IT!!!! AND I KNOW YOU KNOW HOW TO TEXT ME WITHOUT ALL CAPS BECAUSE I'VE SEEN YOU DO IT SO DON'T TELL ME YOU DON'T. THERE IS SOMEONE IN MY LIFE RIGHT NOW WHO SHALL REMAIN NAMELESS THAT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY WITH THIS, BUT IT'S A SITUATION I REALLY CANNOT ADDRESS UNTIL SOME THINGS HAPPEN FIRST. Ok, I think that is enough. You get what I am saying? If you text me in all caps I am not answering. This person I have to, but I think I am going to give them a call and tell them to please stop.
Oh and that is really the final thing. Texting really important stuff that should be face to face. I am NOT going to do that unless you refuse to talk face to face. One thing real estate has taught me that I am SO grateful for, is to say tough things to a person's face. I can have just about any kind of conversation with anyone anymore, because I have learned to be straight up, put on my big girl boots and give it or take it like a woman. *IF* it is done respectfully and kindly.
So, if you plan on breaking up with me, not paying me money you owe me, or not keeping a commitment, or need to address emotional issues, DO NOT TEXT ME. Let's all put on our big boy and girl boots and play it straight. Ok, I think that is all. I feel better now. :-)
