The last couple of months I was preparing madly for a presentation I gave at Girl's Camp last week. It started rather innocently. I am re-earning my Young Women medallion as a leader. For one of the required value projects, I thought I'd give a little talk to a few girls. Maybe a small fireside. I called our stake YW Pres and discussed it with her. She got it approved with the Stake Pres and we just had to decide. It ended up being given to all the girls from the stake at camp. They gave me an HOUR to talk!! That's forever in speaking time.

I chose the topic (Divine Nature/Individual Worth) because I've actually been studying it for the last several years. In the process, I finally got the worth that I have/am as a daughter of God. It's intrinsic. You don't earn it. It just is. Just like a new mother instantly loves her newborn babe, our Father in Heaven loves us because we are His. So, I spent an hour teaching that to the girls. I read so many amazing articles. I should have foot noted them. But I did not.

I worry about talking to youth. I feel like I am a better adult speaker. You don't have to be particularly funny or witty to talk to adults if you let the Spirit help. But I am not great with being a comic or particularly entertaining, so I hope the girls came away with what they needed. I know that is what I prayed for. So, if you want to read what they got.
